This week has been a very very good week. We have done a lot of fun things. For most of our time though we have door knocked. We are currently teaching a handful of people. Things are going really well here.
Last Monday we had dinner at the Stewarts. Then we had to run up to Harrison which is about an hour drive to give a baptismal interview. Jon Case took us up there we had a great time. On Tuesday we were able to go out to the Belles home for dinner. We had dinner and shared a thought with them, then we played with the kids for and raced with them it was all sorts of fun. On Wednesday we had interviews with the mission president. It was a decent experience. Then we saw Orval and had a great lesson with him. Then we saw the McConnells and had dinner with them. On Thursday we were able to have lunch with the Girard's (member) it was so delicious. Then we door knocked the rest of the day. We also celebrated E. Wiscombe's year mark by burning a shirt at The McConnells. Friday we had a blast. It was our branch picnic. So many things were put into the making of this. It was so fun. People swam played games ate great barbeque. It was such a blast. Saturday we were super busy. We had breakfast with the McConnells. Cherry pancakes. Then we had a baptism of a young man in the branch. Then Jon Case took us on an adventure. He needed help picking out a new PC. So he took us to Best Buy in Saginaw. Then he took us to dinner at Famous Dave's. It was delicious. I had the Rib Tips. Then he took us to Bay City and I was able to Catch a brief glimpse of my first Great Lake. Saginaw was Ghetto. Sunday is always great. We had a great conversation with the McConnells. Then we had to give another baptismal interview to someone that the senior couple is teaching. Then we attended a Sign Language class that was put on by a family in the branch. After that we went with Darnel out to Doc's place to roast marshmallows. We had a great conversation. All this week we have been catching squirrels in a live trap. We have caught about four but we don't kill them we let them go. But they jump off of the top of the house but they don't die. Finally this morning we caught the raccoon that we have been looking for. He was a cute little guy. We wanted to keep him. But we set him free. That is about all of our excitement for this week. Hope you all have an great week. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com Honestly this is probably going to be one of the shortest emails that I send. Just not a whole lot has happened this week.
So I will tell you a awesome miracle that happened while I was on trade offs in Mt. Pleasant. We were teaching a girl name Crystal at the Malt Shop. Then all of the sudden out of no where a man comes up and buys us shakes and pizza and sits down and bares an awesome testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then he told us he was on a business trip (NuSkin) from Utah. Then he left. IT was incredible. Other than that not much happened this week besides door knocking. Well folks I hope that you have an awesome and incredibly safe week. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com Well last Monday, we went up to Mt. Pleasant to play transfer ball. It was just us and the ZLs. Then we went to the driving range with them. I had some lemaon cheesecake ice cream it was really good. Then I sent E. Rhodes packing to Traverse City and welcomed E. Wiscombe with open arms.
On Tuesday we saw sis. Muncaster. We did a lot of finding. Then we saw Jon Case and he took us to dinner at Burger King. Then we did a lot of door knocking. On Wednesday we went out to Crystal Lake. We door knocked around the lake it was quite fun and beautiful. On Thursday morning we went with the Woodards to pick peas in a field. I picked a ton of peas. It was crazy and it was after the farmer had harvested them. We did it for 2 and a half hours. Then we went to the Joys (member) to take shingles onto their roof. Then we weekly planned and went and saw Jesse and Lisa. Then we had dinner and door knocked. Its Friday, Friday, doorknocking all day on Friday. That was literally all we did. We did see Bro. Chubb who is in the hospital after a knee surgery. He is hilarious he calls us Utards. It cracks me up everytime. On Saturday we went out to Crystal Lake again. We did a lot of door knocking there. So then I had to use the bathroom. The three gas stations that were out there did not have one. So the only other place was a diner. But you had to be a customer to use the bathroom. So we went in and ordered the cheapest thing on the menu a polish dog. And a chocolate shake. It was so delicious especially to the fact that the joint was SUPER GHETTO. But then I was able to use the bathroom. Then we went to the Gratiot (Grashit) County fair to personal contact. Sunday was good. We had a ton of visitors and they all bore their testimony so not a person from the branch did. Then we saw sis. Muncaster. Then we had a awesome lesson with Dave the atheist. It will just take some time with him to find out that there is a God. Then we went to the fair to see Breezy's sheep (member). That was it. You are all in my prayers. May God bless you and watch over you in all that you do. p.s. Sorry this was short not a whole lot happened this last week. Photos will be updated though. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com Well it feels like I was just telling you about my new companion E. Rhodes. But next Monday I will being telling you about a missionary E. Wiscombe. Anyways.... This Transfer has been awesome working with E. Rhodes, we have had such a great time working together and getting to know the each other. It is quite a bummer that he has to go. He is going up to Traverse City.
This last week has been quite busy. We have also been doing a lot of walking. I pretty much spent the week psyching myself in to the fact that I would be leaving my beloved Ithaca. So when Friday morning came along and a phone from the President came, I was ready for the worst. It sounded like he was going to tell me that I would be getting transferred. But to my relief I was staying. But the next part was more shock than either myself or E. Rhodes could handle. E. Rhodes is going to Traverse City. He will be missed. But it was quite a shock. We thought that I was going or we were both staying. But That is why it is up to the Lord to decide where we go and what we do. Since E. Rhodes has been here we have found a lot more people to teach. Other than the fact of the left field transfer call, not much is been going on. We pretty much door knocked all week long. On Sunday though, the Girard family found a collectors edition STAR WARS mug that they gave to me at Church I thought that that was really awesome. I apologize about the really short email. We are pinched for time today. Elder Rhodes is leaving today. THere are not going to be any pictures updated I forgot my cord at the house. Know that all of you are in my prayers. Have a awesome week. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com It has been a really busy and tiring week this week, but it has been good at the same time.
On Tuesday we saw sis. Muncaster she is doing really well, her and her dog are feeling a lot better. We did quite a bit of door knocking this last week. In fact we have been doing a lot of that all of this transfer. For dinner on Tuesday the Stewart's had us over for dinner, and we had a delicious chicken salad with funeral potatoes. Then we did some more knocking after dinner. On Wednesday we had district meeting. It was really good, it basically was about feeling our spiritual wells. It was nice to have a refresher to remember that things which we study can and will be brought to our remembrance when needed. For district lunch we went to a place called Big Apple Bagels. We walked in and we (the Six of us) went to order, when a man came up and told us not to worry about the bill. So we got our food and sat down next to this man. Come to find out he was a less active member who clearly was rolling in the dough. But it was incredibly nice of him to pay for our meals. After that we went to Breckenridge to do some finding. We knocked some streets and found some decent potentials out there. Then we saw Orval and had a pretty good lesson on finding answers and desires. Then we went down to Ithaca and did some finding down there. After that we went to the church to help set up for the Waffle Night. It was an awesome success. Also very tasty. And quite fun. On Thursday we did some planning for our area to figure out how we can best hasten the work here and how we can become more effective. Then the Girard's had us over for lunch and we had KFC for lunch. then after that we had four hours of door knocking. That was a long haul. Then we went up to Mt. Pleasant for a baptismal interview for the sister missionaries up there. Then we did some door knocking from about 7pm to 8:30pm. On Friday we went out to Breckenridge again to knock a trailer park, those places are gold mines, to find golden investigators. So we knocked there and found two agnostic guys who would be interested in hearing what we (The flippin sweet Gospel of Jesus Christ) has to offer. then for lunch I believe I had the best ever Subway sandwich ( My mom would really like my comp, he likes subway a lot, so do I but not as much). Then we did some more knocking about a total of five hours worth. Then we had dinner with Bernie and Margaret, little Caesar's meat lovers with bacon was delicious. Then we had a lesson with the Hollyfields about the restoration of the gospel. Then we finished out the night doing some more door knocking. On Saturday we had studies with the Senior missionaries (the Woodards). Then we went and saw sis. Muncaster. She was able to go to the temple the first time in 40 years. She said that it was incredible. The last time that she had been was when she was in Germany and she went to the Swiss temple. Then after that you guessed it we did some more door knocking. Then we saw Orval and had an awesome lesson about what the Holy Ghost is like. Then we saw a guy named Jake who is really confused about spiritual things in life and corruption in mankind. but he is beginning to read from the book of Mormon which is good. Sunday's are always great. I love it, they are blessings out here. In Sacrament E. Rhodes gave a talk about Teamwork and Being Anxiously engaged. Then I taught Gospel Principles and it was about the role of the Holy Ghost. I thank the Holy Ghost a ton for helping me get through that. It was awesome. Then the Erekson's had us over for lunch. We had Meatball Subs that were freaking tasty it was hard not to have a third one, but I only had two. Then after that we were able to see John Case, we talked to him for a little bit. Then we came and had bowl of cereal for dinner. Then we went to see a man named Dave who wants to believe in God but doesn't. We had a really awesome discussion with him of how it is through the Holy Ghost that we receive spiritual truth. Well now it is Monday (P Day once again). We had studies this morning and now that is up to date on the happenings in the 48801. I just noticed something. 48801 is the zip code for Alma, MI. And 801 is the area code for phones in most of Utah. That is interesting 48/801/ & 801. Huh that is interesting to me at least. Sorry if this doesn't make sense. Alright folks. Transfer calls are coming up on Friday. So it will be interesting to see if I go or stay. A lot of me would like to stay. But I know that wherever I go (or don't will be were God needs me.). So just for the sake of easiness, not saying that you have to, but don't send me anything until I tell you what my fate is next Monday. (If you were going to awesome, if you weren't going to don't feel obligated.) I hope that you all have an incredible week. Remember the power of prayer. Your Father in Heaven wants you to talk to him. I know that prayer is an incredible tool when it comes to decision making. Don't leave the Lord out when he is the one who knows all. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com On Monday I packed for a 4 day journey. It began with the the Zone Leaders coming down and picking me up. I went up to Mt. Pleasant and spent the day up there with E. Tuttle. (Orangeville, UT). We did quite a bit of door knocking in the morning. We were able to find a less active member while we were up there. We also found a alcoholic that was already super lit before 11:30am but he said that he wanted to quit. He said he also wanted to come to church. So we will see what happens Then we taught a girl named Tashia she wants to believe in God and wants to follow the Savior. She was pretty awesome. Then we got shined (people dodged our appointment) three times by the same person. Then we met with a gal named Jey. She is a student at CMU ( Central Michigan University). She is curious about the dealings of God. Then we did some door knocking. Then we talked to a man named Rob he converted to Islam while in prison, and now is curious about Christianity and the parallels. Then after that the Ithaca, Mt. Pleasant and Harrison Elders all rendezvoused at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel. I then moved my stuff to the Harrison mobile and preceded to continue on my adventure.
Then the adventure began with E. Boswell (Centerville, UT). In the lake town of Harrison. On Wednesday we had three appointments with people but all of them shined us. So we spent the entire day doing some door knocking. We got a lot of doors slammed in our face and not a lot of people wanted to talk. But we were also able to find a less active member. Then for dinner a member bought us some Subway that seems to be the place to eat this transfer. Then in the morning we got all ready and prepped to carpool with the Houghton lake Elders (Stolp and English) to head down to Midland to meet the new President. The drive down there was pretty fun/ funny. Finally we got to meet the new man in charge of the MLM. Pres. Jacobsen is a really awesome guy. He is extremely excited to get into a groove. I look forward to working with him over the next 19 months or so. Man after that it was sort of like coming home to Ithaca. We had dinner with the Ring family. Friday we had a pretty good day. We were able to see sis. Muncaster and have lunch with her. She is doing a little better. But she is still in a bit of pain along with her dog. Then we did about three hours of door knocking, and knocked into a Reformed LDS pastor. It was interesting. then we had a coordination meeting with our Branch Mission Leader. Then we met with the Mcconnell's. Then we had dinner the the Hollyfields. I have had more KFC on my mission than my entire life before hand. Not making it easier to come home lighter. LOLS. Saturday we met with the Mcconnells and taught them the plan of Salvation as new members. THen we did some more knocking in some apartments. Then we met with Jon case, and talked to him about his story. Then did some more knocking. Then we saw the Hutchinson's. Then we had dinner and finished the night out with some doors. Sundays are always awesome days. The songs that were sung in sacrament meeting were some of my favorites. Nearer my God to thee. How great thou art. And because I have been given much. Then after church we went out to a Dairy farm to drop off a spanish book of Mormon. Then we did some knocking, and had an awesome Seafood dinner at the Girard's. Bruschetta bread, Seafood Lasagna, Seafood Spaghetti and strawberries dipped in chocolate. It was super good. Then we went to the hospital and visited Lisa's mom she has got Pneumonia, and we gave her a blessing. Then it was time for bed. Today we are having lunch at SUBWAY with Darnel. That is about all that we have planned for today at this point we will see what the future holds. I hope you all have a awesome week. Know that I am thankful for you. And remember it is truly up to you if you are happy or not. God be with you till we meet again. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com So last Monday night, we went on trade offs with the Harrison Elders. I went up to Harrison with E. Todd. While I was up there, we door knocked for about 3 1/2 hours with a whopping total of 5 people invited to learn. #DoorSlamCounty But while I was up there we had dinner with the Hasenfratz family. It was a good refreshing chicken salad on toasted french (FREEDOM) bread.
On Wednesday we had a pretty awesome district meeting. On Becoming a Preach My Gospel missionary. So for district lunch we went to Qdoba a dumbed down Cafe' Rio. While we were talking the subject and stories of missionaries asking for stuff came up. So an off the record goal that we have set is to ask, only when people are not interested in the gospel, for stuff. For example; "That is a nice watch,........Where did you get it from?..........I have always wanted a watch like that, and I have been looking for one..........Can I have it?" Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but it adds some spice to the work. Then Bro. Girard had us for lunch at the Blue Shamrock. It was quite a tasty chicken bourbon sandwich. Then later that night we went and washed the Hutchinson's windows. They were kind enough to give us some KFC for dinner. Then after that we went to the Mcconnell's and helped them lay some linoleum down. On Thursday we did a lot of finding (Door Knocking). On the 4th of July we were given word from the Jacobsen administration (new Mission Pres.) that we were allowed to stay out until 22:30 hrs. as long as we were with a member. But we started the day out helping Darnel, we helped him throw some things away, he is getting ready to head out to Utah in Septemberish. Then we did some door knocking not a lot of success. We did have one lady want to learn more about the "Mitt Romney boys". Then we saw the Mcconnell's and burnt one of E. Rhodes shirts for his 12 month mark. We also saw sis. Muncaster. She is doing alright she is currently in a lot of pain. So is her poor little dog. He just has super bad arthritis. Then we saw the Hollyfields and shared a message with them. Then we did some more door knocking. Since no members invited us to do anything which was kind of a bummer, we just sat outside our apt. and watched different fireworks around us be shot off (big mortars). So nothing too exciting for the Fourth. On Saturday we saw Orval and talked to him about the Pre-Earth life and our God given right to choose (agency). It was an awesome 15 minute lesson. Then we went out to the gravel pits for James' birthday. It is pretty much a huge swimming hole in the middle of no where with fish in it. Then we went to the Village of Breckenridge to do some door knocking not a lot of success there either. Sunday is always good, we got a ride from Darnel to church. It was a awesome fast and testimony meeting. Then we had delicious chicken for lunch with the Anderson's. Then we did some door knocking in a kingdom builder area, not humble people at all. Then we knocked on Rosedale and were able to talk to a really cool guy who said that he wants to come to church. So we talked to him for about an hour. Last night we had a SEVERE thunderstorm, and some flooding, the Pine river over flowed. The Thunder was awesome to listen to and the lightning was incredible. That all leaves me sitting right here writing this email. At the Theodore Austin Memorial library. I hope that all of you have an awesome week. Thank you for your support. May God watch over you and protect you. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com Last Monday after we went shopping, we went to the Alma College book store. We got some Ice cream that tasted really really good. I got Butter Pecan. It was so so good. I think that has become one of my new favorite flavors of Ice cream.
On Wednesday our landlord had us over for dinner. He made some delicious hamburgers with onion buns. And some delicious butter pecan Ice Cream. After that we went door knocking in a trailer park. It was pretty classic. The people were really open to talking about things. We found this one guy named Jake. He was really into it. He invited us in and we sat down and taught the whole Plan of Salvation to him. While we were teaching, his BIG pittbull came up to me got a rub down. Then it hopped up on the couch and curled up around me and laid its heads on my lap. It was a pretty sweet dog. On Thursday, we met with the Mcconnells. We helped them replace their carburetor on their new/used truck (1982 Bronco). Then we did some door knocking ( We have been doing that a lot lately). Then Paul and Angie (some former investigators had us over for dinner. They are some awesome people. And really fun to talk to. They made homestyle bisquik biscuits for biscuits and gravy. It was delicious. For dessert we had strawberry shortcake. BUT.........instead of cake we used (from a tube) Pillsbury flaky biscuits for the cake. It was AMAZING and I plan on bringing that back to UTah with me. O yeah and with some cool whhhip on top. So here comes the check off. We were door knocking South State St. near our apartment. Because we were low on miles. As we were walking up the road it was really quiet. Then I heard a bark, I turned to look for the dog. But instead of seeing one dog, I saw two German Sheperds leading a pack of 5 dogs running at us. I was out. E. Rhodes and I took of running like there was no tomorrow. We ran up the block and around the corner. We peaked around the side of a building and the coast was clear. So we knocked back down towards where the dogs started chasing us. As we approached the house where the dogs came from they were all just waiting in the yard. So as we gingerly walked by we noticed that all the dogs had collars on the were connected to an underground invisible fence. LOLS they wanted us really really bad but they all five just paced back and forth. On Saturday we helped out at the Fire Hall. Then Jon Case took us to the KFC drive thru for dinner. On Sunday the Fosters had us over for spaghetti, and some delicious homemade onion roles. It was super good. While we were in Ithaca we checked on Richard he is Rob's dad. He was a way cool guy, he gave us some food to take home. Also the Joy sisters gave us food to take home. So really there is no need to grocery shop this week. And here I am emailing all of you. I hope you all have a wonderful week. You are in my prayers. p.s. Sorry folks no new pictures this week. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com On Monday, we visited a lot of people. Because E. Jacobsen was leaving. On Monday night the Stewarts and Girards and Darnel took us to Tony's. Where the banana split there can feed about 20 people or so, with some left over.
On Tuesday, E. Jacobsen left and E. Rhodes arrived. We been working really well together. We have hit the ground running. For dinner on Tuesday the Gasser's had us out for dinner. Their son James is going to culinary art school, he made delicious pork in beef burgers. With candied sweet potato fries. It was delicious. We shared a message with them, about the good Samaritan. Then on our way home, we saw a guy whose truck was stalled on the side of the road so we stopped to see if there was anything we could do for him. We weren't really able to render much aid, but he was able to get going. So the moral of the story is to PRACTICE what you PREACH. We received word on Wednesday that the Bro. Case's father and Grandfather had passed away. So in the evening we went to the viewing (visitation out here) and supported them. The Funeral was on Thursday morning which we went to. It was a decent funeral. Being a Firefighter runs in the Case's blood. We learned a really cool fact that his Grandpa was one of the longest serving Firefighters in Michigan at 50 years of service. There was a firefighter color guard there as pallbearers. Before they closed the casket, a "Last Call" went out over their radios for Asst. Chief Walter Case. Chills run up and down my spine whenever I hear the last call for anybody whether it is for Firefighters or Police officers. As everyone was standing waiting for the casket to come out, Bro. Case's uncle began to have what appeared as a heart attack. Luckily the FD was already on scene, one of the Firefighters ran across the street and brought the rescue truck over, and they waited for an ambulance to come and take him to Gratiot County Medical Center. We later heard word that Bro. Case's uncle just had a panic attack and he was already up and doing things. Sometimes the surrealness(not a word) of things can get the better of us. On Saturday, James was baptized. On Sunday I was able to confirm Jesse, Lisa, and James members of the church. It was such an awesome and spiritual experience that will not be forgotten. On Sunday we had dinner with the Foster's. They just got back from a trip to UTah driving there, for a family reunion. On their way back they were chased by a tornado. They are an awesome family and I love them a bunch. Well that is about the extent of my week. I hope that you all are staying safe. Have an awesome week, and know that you are in my prayers. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com This last week we had an incredible miracle happen. On Tuesday, we were visiting with Jesse and Lisa, and got a phone call from Pres. Hess. He relayed to us that he had received a letter from the First Presidency that Jesse was cleared and ready for baptism. It was such a euphoric feeling when we got that news. Immediately we began getting things in order for the baptism to occur on Saturday the 14th. We had a lot of things to do. We were running everywhere. Getting programs put together and people to speak. The devil was trying very hard to make it so that this family would not get baptized. But we got them to the waters. Jesse and Lisa were baptized on Saturday June 14th 2014 at 10am.
****In the hours before the baptismal service, the devil was working really hard. Our 1st councilor bro. Erekson (lives 25 minutes away) came all the way down to the church to unlock the faunt, he had the wrong keys. So he drove all the way back home. Then all the way back to the Church. Got the faunt unlocked, went home and got dressed, then came back to conduct and preside at the service. Then after the baptism he went all the way back home and changed and came back for a members graduation open house. Thank you Bro. Erekson for persevering for the Lord's work. So the rule with converts is they have to be confirmed in sacrament meeting the following Sunday. Oh but was the devil working hard to keep them from making it. Which they did not make it to Sacrament on Sunday. They did make it to church though. What happened basically was Jesse's went to pick up his daughter(5 years old) from his ex-wife and when they arrived there was a bonfire out front and his ex's boyfriend was throwing all of the little girls toys and clothes and everything into the fire. Really sad. It is a good thing that she has some clothes and things at Jesse's. But things are all being worked out. So after church on Sunday we were all over the place we went to the Stewarts for lunch (leftovers from the open house). Then they gave a bunch to take back to the apartment. No need to shop this week and we will leave it at that. Then we went out to the Ereksons for homemade DELICIOUS venison burgers. Then we saw sis. Muncaster and sis. Smyth. Then we hung out with Darnel. He has made a decision to move out to UT in about three months. He said that the answer that he received was very blatant and straight forward. So that is the tale of this week. The good news is that I am not leaving. Elder Jacobsen has been voted off the island to Greenville which is about an hour drive west in the Grand Rapids zone. I am receiving Elder Rhodes coming from Saginaw. I am looking forward to serving with him. Hope you all have an awesome week. You are all in my prayers. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com We have had a pretty good week this week. We have a new investigator who is set to be baptized on the 5th July. She is a roommate of one our less active members. She said that she is ready to come unto Christ.
Delarro is moving down to Detroit for summer because he has an internship at Ernst and Young. But he said that he will still come up here to meet with us once a week still. On Wednesday we went Door knocking on one of the streets near the Church building and had some really good conversations with people. Only one was interested in hearing more though. Then the Hartmans had us over for dinner. On Thursday was half mission P-day. This is where geographically half of the mission gets together and plays field games. It was pretty fun. I played basket ball. then Played baseball with Pres. Hess. It was quite a fun day. After that we had trade offs with the Zone Lords (Leaders). It was a pretty good time working with E. Richardson. On Saturday we went to the Fire Hall and helped them out. Then we went to check on Jesse and Lisa. They were doing good (But did not come to church again yesterday. Such a bummer). They then invited us to go to lunch with them. So we went to this place called Tony's. And on Saturdays they have all you can eat spaghetti. So Jesse challenged us. Lets just say I won at 3 1/2 big plates of spaghetti. Jesse's record is 5. It was insane(ly)(stupid). After that we went to sis. Muncaster's for a little bit to recuperate. I felt so horrible. I will never have spaghetti again. Then we went door knocking. Our last door the guy tried to Bible Bash. But I swiftly diffused his mal-intent. And got us a return appointment for tomorrow after church. Church was okay. It was seminary graduates testimonies, then the teacher (seminary teacher is a calling out here not a job) talked about the importance of seminary. It was quite boring. Then we saw sis. Muncaster and she again rebuked us for eating all the spaghetti. Then we went to Jeremy's home and sate down with him and a friend of his named Larry. They are from the Church of Christ. They didn't realize that we believe in the bible, and everything that they were saying that they believed was sound with our church doctrine. The only thing that they did not believe in was continuing revelation and prophets. So we were there for 2 hours it was crazy. Then we went to the Stewart's for dinner. And guess what we had.? SPAGHETTI. O no. Then guess what they sent the left overs home with us. But other than that we had an awesome visit and talk with them. They are great people. Well folks that is all I have this week. Hope you are all having a incredible week. God Speed. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com June 6th is the anniversary of the invasion of Normandy. Please remember all of those who have served, and are serving. DO NOT forget their sacrifice for us.
Believe it or not. I have been out for Four months.........probably feels like Four years for Mom.6/2/2014 It has been crazy how fast time flies out here. But some days are really long.
Well not much has happened since I talked to you last. The Stewarts had us over for dinner. We had trade offs all last week. I went up to Harrison on Wednesday and pretty much Door knocked all day long. Then for dinner I found some canned potatoes, carrots, beans, and chicken broth, and put it all together. I brought it to a boil. And enjoyed, it was a little archaic, but pretty good. Not sure if I mentioned this. but while E. Mann was down here in Alma with me he worked wonders on sis. Muncasters tablet for family history. He found out that all her family that has passed on has been baptized. She was so excited, and was brought to tears. She explained that she always thought that no one would be there waiting for her. Now she knows that her Brother especially will be there waiting for here. She was OVER JOYED. It was such an awesome experience to be there with her when she found out. It strengthened my testimony on forever families. I know that we can be with them for time and all eternity through the saving ordinances of our Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ. I got a haircut and it feels so good. The people who did it did a hot shave on my neck afterward, I get goosebumps thinking about it. It was awesome. Now I don't look like a hippie any more. On Saturday we visited with Jon Case and watched a movie on Gordon B. Hinckley. Then we visited the Hutchinsons. Then we drove out to Midland for stake conference. It was a pretty good meeting. Then on Sunday we got a ride out to Midland from the Girards. Again it was a pretty good meeting. Then we came back and saw the Mcconnell's. Then we visited with sis. Muncaster. Then Sean and Kellie had us over for dinner. It was really good. This morning we woke to a leaking sink, hopefully our landlord is fixing it by now. Well that is all I have for you this week. As soon as this email is sent I will be updating all the photos on the site so check them out. I will SEND and email when it is completed God be with you 'til we meet again. God Speed Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks The last two weeks or so have been quite different from normal weeks. Our P days have consisted of lots of service and memorial day.
But anyway catching you up to date.... Last P day we were at the Girard's all day long. Helping them with washers and dryers. In the afternoon we went golfing and I had another awesome time driving the golf cart around and atving with it. then we had a pretty regular week. The Girards fed us multiple times last week. Other than that it wasa pretty regular week. But on the night that we left the Girard's, I cannot remember what day, I had a feeling that we were going to have a deer jump across the road in front of us. Well as we pulled out of the Girards drive way and onto M46 there were some wicker chairs that came out of no where that were just sitting in the road. E. Jacobsen slammed on the brakes and swerved around them. We pulled up and off the road and flagged down a St. Louis PD CVPI. He pulled over and turned his lights on, we ran down and threw the chairs into the bushes. While the officer ran up the road and threw some more off. I told him to have a safe night and we were again on our way. While we were recovering from having our life flash before our eyes, Driving down river road, a couple of flipping white tail deer came sprinting across the road in front of us. Again E. Jacobsen slammed on the brakes. Long story short we lived to proselyte another day. So one night we were at Darnel's place and he was sharing some DEEP things that he was going through, and that he had been thinking of. The White handbook says to be in the apartment no later than 9:30pm, well that night we did not make it back until 12:30am. So when we got back and the lights in the 1st floor were still on. We thought it to be odd. The next morning we got an phone call from the assistants, they were wondering why we were out so late. WE KNEW IT. The senior couple had waited for us to get home. Then they proceeded to tattle on us. When the assistants asked for a reason, I told them this; "Do you see the Savior walking out on someone in there time of need, just because it is bedtime? I don't. I for one am not going to make it a habit to stay out late. But I am NOT the kind of person that just gets up and leaves when someone needs help. And I will gladly with honor do it again if I have to." They didn't have anything to say after that. Then I told that to the senior couple, then also to President Hess. Did any of them have anything to say to it? NO. Why because they knew it was the right thing to do. And that was the end of that. On Memorial day weekend it was the Highland Festival at Alma College. We talked to over 250 people. And also helped Darnel with his booth. I got scarlet arms after but it was fun. We watched the Highland Parade and took lots of pictures. You will have to check them out on the website. They may or may not be posted by now but keep an eye out. Then on Monday the City of St. Louis had a Memorial day parade, where again I took a lot of pics. They had a memorial service for fallen servicemen and women on the bridge and had a 21 gun salute. A member's grandfather was in the parade he was 92 years old and served in WWII. HONOR THE FALLEN LAND OF THE FREE. BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE Then today we have trade offs. Elder Mann is down here in Alma with me and I will go up to Harrison at the end of the week. But today we went and saw sis. Muncaster and found her brother on familysearch.com and found out he was baptized. She was over joyed. I was happy to be a part of that happiness. (Her brother was a San Antonio Police officer, and was shot and killed 40 years ago.) The joy that was on her face has made the efforts more that worth it. Well I hope you all have a safe week. and May God bless you in every aspect of your lives. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com It has been a pretty good week. We were able to go to two parades this week. I will put pictures up either tomorrow or next monday. I hope you all have a safe and awesome Memorial. The next email will be longer and more detailed.
Honor the Fallen Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY This week has been pretty good. We got Jesse and Lisa moved into their new trailer. We have actually been in proselyting clothes for more than service clothes. This week we have been getting back in to the groove of things.
We had another awesome lesson with one of our investigators Delarro. He is a awesome guy. He really understands the importance of sincere prayer and having a single prophet on the earth to direct the work of the Lord. We have been really busy with some members this last week. On Saturday I think it was Jon Case took us on a ride throughout all of our area Gratiot County. We had McDonalds as we drove through the beautiful country side. We are planning to go again, due to the fact that I forgot my camera so there are no pictures of the trip. It was awesome though, Crystal Lake is a beautiful lake and town. On Sunday I had the privelege of being in the circle for the confirmation of a new 8 year old member to the church. It was an awesome experience. then we stayed and had some refreshments. Then for dinner the Girards had us over for a BBQ dinner. It was awesome. Today we have been at the Girards, they are letting us email on their computers. We are helping them move a chicken coup. But the awesome part is for lunch he made us some AMAZING rib steak. It was literally the best steak that I have ever had. Now we are probably going to go golfing. Well there are not going to be any new pictures on the site but some of the non-visual items are going to be updated. Hope you all have a amazing week. May God watch over you Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com DISCLAIMER: This one is going to be a little on the short side of things... I think. We will see how it turns, out.
This whole last week we have perhaps spent 15 hours in white shirts and ties. What were we doing for the other hours of the week. It was and still is extreme home makeover to the max. Our investigators the Mcconnell family, bought a trailer. [NOT SURE IF I AM REPEATING MYSELF... O WELL] So this entire last week we completely gutted the trailer and started from the bottom up. Laying floors, walls, windows, linoleum, counters etc. It has been an awesome experience, and we still have a ways to go. One of the lessons we had this week was with Delaro. We finally got a member to go with us. We had a way awesome lesson talking about repentance, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. These last couple of weeks our work has been very service oriented. We have helped the Girard family remodel a room, we helped the Bohjanen family bend metal poles for their garden, we washed fire trucks, we helped Darnel build a desk. We could practically open up a handy man business here. On Friday the Fosters [a part member family] had us over for dinner. They had grilled [on a grill] porkchops that were to die for. It was awesome. Then after dinner we were able to meet their bloodhound. It was the biggest dog that I have ever seen. It was such awesome dog and he was full grown and not even a year old yet. I will own a blood hound at some point in my life. But it will definitely not take the place of a Shih Tzu sitting on my lap. {Especially Mia little scruffy dog back home}. I would like to wish all of the Mothers out there a Happy Mothers day. Sunday was a good day. Sacrament meeting had some awesome messages about all that mothers do for us. Then after church I was able to talk to my family. It was so so so so so awesome [I do not know how else to describe it]. Then we went and took Sis. Muncaster a Dahlia for mothers day. Then we went and checked on the Mcconnell family. Then the Girards invited us over for a BBQ with homemade hamburgers. They were delicious. Then we went and said hi to Darnel and as we were there I was able to call and talk to my Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle. Then I was able to talk to my cousin and her mom and dad {Youngs}. Then I was able to talk to my other aunt and uncle as well {Mccanns}. It was an incredible experience Then before I went to bed I had another awesome time talking with my Mom, Dad, Lex, and Grace. It was so good to hear their voices. I absolutely love my family. Well it looks like this email turned out to be longer than expected. p.s. I talked to family for more than 4 and a half hours yesterday. p.s.s. DON'T TAKE FAMILY FOR GRANTED, LOVE THEM NO MATTER WHAT. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com This week has been a pretty awesome week. We had some very solid lessons this last week. We had one with Lionel and Melissa. It was perhaps the deepest gospel conversation I have ever been included in. It was pretty incredible, the basics of it were temple sealings, and how the priesthood allows things to be bound in heaven and on earth. We also had a pretty interstellar lesson with Delaro. We talked about the plan of Salvation. He was very very into it. The best part about it was the fact that he was taking notes and writing scriptures down. He told us that he would study them out in his heart and mind and talk to God about it. We told him that was exactly our purpose; To share the knowledge that we have come to know for ourselves, and invite people to talk to God about it. On Wednesday we had Pres. Hess come and interview Jesse for baptism. It was a nice opportunity to be able to talk with the mission president. Then on Thursday the ZLs came down to interview James and Lisa for Baptism. It was all going well. Then one of the ZLs pretty much attacked Lisa's mom for being less active. It was very awkward. After the fact Jesse wanted to call our mission president and complain about the ZLs. Told Pres. Hess that if those two missionaries were to ever come back and be as disrespectful as they were he would literally throw them out of his house. So we have been having a little bit of drama going around due to this incident. Anyway the nice thing is that the Mcconnell's desire for baptism is unwavering. So on Friday I happened to be going 40 in a 30 and it would be my luck to have one of Alma Cities Finest come around the corner. Before the Dodge Charger whipped around and turned its lights on, I was already pulled over. As the officer came up and asked for License and registration, he asked how my driving record was. I told him that it was clean and this was the first time that I have ever been stopped. He told me to wait just a minute... so I did. since he had to run a out of state license it took him a minute to come back to me. He handed me my license and things and just told me to slow it down a bit. I said thank you, and then I said to him; "Do you mind if I ask you a weird question? Would it be alright if I got out and took a picture of your car with its lights on?" He said okay. So I got out and was able to capture a couple quick pictures. While I was snapping pictures I was telling him that had he been in a Crown Victoria I would have pulled over sooner, he got a good chuckle out of that. Then I told him thanks and to have a safe day then shook his hand. And we were on our way. And that Ladies and gentlemen is how to get out of a ticket. Since Darnel has got everyone around the branch referring to us as '"Thug Angels with Poking sticks"' We decided to take that to heart. We went to Wal Mart and bought some lightsabers to take with us every time we go to see him and poke the heck out of him. He thinks that it is hilarious. On Saturday we spent 7 and a half hours helping the Mcconnells get the trailer that they bought up and ready for them to move in on the 16th. We gutted the place and put up walls and windows. We made awesome progress. I never thought that I would be doing home improvement on my mission. Well it looks like those times when I helped my dad hang dry wall are finally paying off. Not to mention they paid off when I spent a lot of time in the basement. Fast and Testimony meeting was amazing. It was primarily focused on how great families are. It made me realize how great a family unit is. I am so grateful for my Family and Friends who are supporting me. I am so Thankful for all of you. I hope that you are all having a incredible week. And May God bless and watch over each and every one of you. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com We have had an awesome week this last week. We had trade offs with the elders from Harrison. I had the opportunity of running my area for a day and a half. It was an awesome experience. At first I may have been a little nervous, but I had such a great time doing it. The Elder that was with me was E. Hopkin. He goes home on the first Wednesday in May. We were able to get a lot of good things done. We also were able to go and get a Frosty Cone. I got a Frosty Delight. It was ice cream blended with cherry slushee. It was delicious.
Then on Wednesday I went up to Harrison with Elder Mann. He goes home in about seven weeks. We had a great time there as well. We door knocked for a while and were able to have a good / very interesting chat with a Community of Christ member (a Break of from the Church). It was very interesting. Then we went to a place that is Michigan renown, Cops'N'Doughnuts. We got a doughnut called the squealer a maple bar with five strips of bacon on it. It was delicious. The Elders that serve in Harrison / Clare County have decided that there are 10 good looking girls in the whole county. Which means that there is one out of every 1,000. Well while we were door knocking we found the 4th good looking girl in Clare county. It was hillarious. On Friday we had the privilege of going on splits with the zone leaders. Myself and E. Richardson stayed in a village called Shepard. The 56th Annual Maple Syrup Festival was going on. We stood on the side walk and passed around surveys asking about how people felt about God and Jesus Christ. It was an awesome experience. I know that it is not about the numbers but it felt good to have 72 ITLs {Invitation to Learn} in 5 hours. It was awesome. Afterward I was going to buy some syrup and send it home. But for $14 a quart I decided against it. [That is Highway Robbery] But we had an awesome time. Today we went golfing. It was an magnificent time that we had. Though I did not play golf. It was six bucks to rent a Cart and 9 bucks to play nine holes. So I rented the cart and E. Jacobsen played golf. Since it was a tad windy and the weather was nice though, we were the only people on the course. Once we were out of sight of the club house which was hole 2... lets just say I probably had a better time driving the golf cart ALL around, than E. Jacobsen did playing. I really had such a great time it was intoxicating. I drove all over the place and the thing that made it nice was also the fact that the cart was very speedy. I had such a great time that I told my comp that I would not have a problem coming back next P day. So we will see what happens. I hope that all of you have had a great week. I want all of you to know that your own happiness comes from your choice to be happy or not. So PLEASE CHOOSE to be HAPPY. There is NO sense in being anything else, not matter the time. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com I would like to start off with how grateful I am for this time of year. I feel that it is extremely of looked and commercialized. It is the time of year where we celebrate the sacrifice of our Savior for us. It is the time when we celebrate the resurrection, and the knowledge that we have that there will be life after death, and that we will return with a perfect body. I have no idea what I would do without that knowledge. I know that through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ we all can be forgiven. It does NOT matter how far off the path you feel that you have strayed. The Savior is there for you and WANTS you to partake in the atonement. I know that you CAN BE forgiven if YOU so DESIRE. I am so thankful for the knowledge which I have obtained that I know that I can live with my family who I love so much, in an unbroken chain for eternity.
Anyway... We have had a pretty good week. We hit a little speed bump with Jesse and Lisa. They made it a week without smoking. Then they relapsed on Saturday. We told them that at this point they know all they need to know, and we are here for support. But it is now up to them if they want to make the commitment. They said that they really do want to, so I am confident that they will make it. We have had some difficulty with Sara this last week, she also relapsed with smoking. The trouble is she is probably going to move to Lake Tahoe, CA with her boyfriend. But we are still working with her. This week we got two new solid investigators Delaro and Jalani. They are really cool we have met with them only once. I will let you know about them in the future. For Easter Sunday we went to Church. Then our investigators Jesse and Lisa had us over for lunch. It was pretty much Thanksgiving dinner. It was extremely nice of them. Then we went to the Girard's and helped with an Easter egg hunt. Then we stopped by and visited sis. Muncaster for a while. She gave us an Easter basket. Then we went to the Gasser's for dinner. We had jamaican chicken with botswani rice it was super delicious. Then we went hung out with Darnel for about an hour. It is a very interesting dynamic on Easter out here. EVERYTHING shuts down, restaurants and all. I hope you all had an awesome Easter. I hope and pray you all are doing well. Have a incredible week. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com It has been a Tornado of a week. But I will start at the beginning. General Conference was awesome. If you didn't have an opportunity to watch it, I would like to invite you to do so. I can promise you that there will be something in there for you.
Anyway...... We had a pretty interesting and good week. We have a new investigator named Sara. She is way way awesome. We have met with her twice, and have had really spiritual experiences with her both times. This Sunday she came to church. Since we had General Conference this last week, we had fast and testimony meeting on the 13th. We were sitting in the pews, with a few of our investigators and she whispered to me that she had to go. I thought that she meant that she needed to leave. But to my pleasant surprise she got up and bore the sincerest and honest and heartfelt testimony I have ever heard. It was an awesome experience. We have been having awesome success here in Alma. To sum it up the best I can would bet in the words of our branch president after church on Sunday. "Did you elders realize that we had more investigators and guests in sacrament meeting than we did members?" It was such an awesome day on Sunday. So Saturday the 12th started out like any other day. We got up did our three hours of studying and went to work. Later in the day when we were at Orval's house with Jesse and Lisa(investigators) helping them get a place to rent from Orval. When it started Hailing and the wind was blowing HARDCORE it was insane. We didn't really think much of it. So we just went about our business as usual. We went and saw Darnell. He told us that there was a jumping tornado going around. Then right after he told us that the Senior couple Woodards texted us and told us that we needed to get right back to the house. When we got there, there were sparks flying from downed power lines in our backyard. A couple of trees were completely uprooted and thrown on top of the power lines. (check the website for the pics). It was crazy, the Woodards already called the electric company to come. But it would be a while. We saw that the stairway to our apt. was blocked by a downed line. So we decided to go to the fire station to see if they needed any help or knew what was going on. We got there and 3 out of the 7 trucks were out driving around looking for damage. We pulled up right as they were hauling but out of the station. We got inside and were able to talk to the Chief about what was going on. They new that we were hit by something. So they sent trucks out to look for people in distress. When we went back to the house, we saw that the wire had come loose and had risen far enough that we were able to get into our apartment. We spent the evening listening and watch the thunder and the huge and close lighting. We were without power. So we were able to get up and go to church and the power was back on Sunday night. We were hit by a jumping tornado. but with God protecting us, we were safe. On Sunday President Belles invited us to have lunch with his family out in the village of Breckenridge. That had a sweet ranch type place with ten acres and a forest on their land it was way sweet. Well that is a week in review I pray for all of you each night. May God bless, watch, and protect you over the coming week. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com This week has flown by. We have been so busy, with getting people and investigators set up to watch conference.
This last week we had trade offs with the Zone Leaders, who work the CMU campus up in Mt. Pleasant. So I went up there with elder Oler. We had a pretty good time. Their apartment is next to a MSP Station, so the next time we are up there I am going to have a photo op with the cars there. We knocked into a frat boy who's best friend is on a mission in Brazil. We had a good conversation with him and he wants us to go back and talk with him. He wants to know what his friend was out doing. It was funny because he was saying that he would practice teach with his friend all of the time. At this point in time we have 8 investigators with a baptismal date. It is cawazy the work here is slowing exploding. Three of the investigators I am confident will definitely get baptized. I feel like a lot of the missionaries out here get number hungry. I have personally vowed to myself that I will never get number hungry. Any soul that I can help bring unto our Savior is victory enough to me. I would like to share some thoughts that stuck out to me during the 184th Annual General Conference of the Church; Do not strive to be seen of men -Dieter F. Uchtdorf If you ever find yourself where you shouldn't ought to be... GET OUT -Thomas S. Monson I want you all to know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Have a great week and may the Force be with you. ps Check the website for updated pictures. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com It has been an interesting week. We hardly did any actual missionary work. We were in the apartment for five days, cleaning and moving. We had to clean the entire house from top to bottom. Once we got the top floor cleaned we took all of our furnishings up there. It was a lot of work and a long process. Due to the fact that all of the doorways were really thin and the stairway to the upstairs that is outside is really steep and narrow. So after about two days of periodically doing real missionary work. We got all of the furnishings up stairs and proceeded to clean the bottom apartment. This was a deal and a half. There was so much crap stuffed away from missionaries that had been living down there for ten years. It was so crazy I am sure that the garbage man hated us. Well on Wednesday the Elder and Sister (Anderson) came up and helped us deep clean. Then they took us to a Pizza Hut buffet. It was really good. Then they left us another list of things to get down around the house. On Friday they came back up to Ithaca and helped us move in the SOME of the seniors furniture. We spent 45 minutes trying to get a couch in the house. We did eventually. Then they took us to another buffet at KFC. It was very good. But felt a little sick the next day. It was a horrible week to watch what we ate.
But it is so nice to finally be moved into the upstairs, I know that I promised pictures this week but I forgot to take them. Sunday was a very interesting day. We woke up and were getting ready for church. Then we received a phone call from a upset Darnel. His cat Eddie had died over night. He was very upset, so we had him come to our apartment and we went to church with him. I gave a talk in sacrament meeting about sacrifice ( which I will email a copy of sometimemy parents will have the hard copy if you would like it sooner). Then after church we went to Darnel's apt. and got a box and put the cats body in it. He met us at the Girard's who were so kind to let Eddies final resting place be in their yard. Then we had Darnel come back to our apartment for lunch which was provided by the Joy sisters. It is going to be really hard on Darnel, he is blaming himself for the cats death, the cat was13 and we believe that he had cancer, he was suffering from a lot of hair loss. Keep him in your prayers he is going to need the strength. On a brighter note, I turned 2 Months old on Friday the 29th. It is so cawazy to think that I have been out here for that long. the time has gone pretty fast. I am at a pint in my life that I thought I would never be at. I would like to thank all of you for all of your love and support. i hope you all have an awesome week you are all in my prayers. Remember the Lord is always on your side and he wants you to come home And May the Force be with you. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com Well it has been a interesting week. A long week. And a little on the stressful side of things too.3/24/2014 Well last week on Monday right after we got to email, we got a phone call from the senior couple who are in charge of housing. We were told that a senior couple was coming to live where we were living, and that we were going to be transferred out of the area because we did not fit in the top level Apt. (I will send pictures probably next week once we are completely moved in). So they told us that we had to move everything upstairs and deep clean the entire house. We were aggravated. They were going to white wash (take all missionaries out and put all new ones in) the area because we were to big to fit. We were distraught and didn't really want to do anything.
So we called the Assistants to the President and asked them if they knew what was going on. They said that we wouldn't have to worry. So we STILL DID. But on Wednesday at the end of the day we got a phone call from Pres. Hess, he told us that if we are willing to make the sacrifice that our chances of staying in Alma/Ithaca were good. So we told that we were very willing to make that sacrifice, (especially since we are making some headway with some people) to continue serving the awesome people of this area. Pres. Hess then told us we shouldn't have to worry, but nothing would be set in stone until our Transfer Calls came Friday. So we STILL worried. So on Friday and Saturday we spent the entire day at the Apt. cleaning and moving things. We cleaned the upstairs, then we cleaned the kitchen, then the laundry room (basement), then we moved desks upstairs and are practically moved in up there. All we have left to do is move beds and clothes upstairs. The more we are up there the nicer it becomes. The only problem is that I am going to make sure I don't knock out my two front teeth on some of the doorways. (<<<------Serious) So on Friday, Elder Jacobsen told me that if you stay in your area you get a phone call from the zone leaders before 1030am. Well 1030am came and went and we got no phone call. At 1055am (a LONG 25 mins) we got a call, from the ZLs saying we were staying... YYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! (Like Han Solo in A NEW HOPE when they blow up the Death Star 1) We were stoked. So the address stays the same you just have to add a 1/2. So it is now; 148 1/2 Allen Ave. Alma, MI 48801 So on Sunday the 24th (Yesterday) we had investigators come to church, it was awesome. After church when we spoke with them they told us that a lot of their questions that they had were answered. Then after that we had lunch at the Stewarts. Then we had to rush to another appointment (that texted us earlier in the week wondering how she could go about getting baptized...GOLDEN) so we went and talked with her and have set a date for the 19th of April. then we had to rush to catch a ride from Doc Anderson to take us to Midland (Hour drive) for Stake Priesthood meeting. It was good, the talks were awesome they talked a lot about fathers and fatherly responsibility. Dads are there to; 1. Protector 2. Provider 3. Be a Friend 4. Someone to talk to. 5. A Haven 6. And to be Goofy with his kids. When the stake pres talked about this it reminded me so much of my Dad. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for my dad and ALL that he has done for me. Thank you Dad. Well I hope you all have had a good week. May God watch over you. And remember to pray to him with any question that you have. That is one thing that I have learned out here. The more specific you are with our Heavenly Father in our prayers the better you prayers will be answered. So I would like to challenge each of you to be specific in your prayers/conversation with Heavenly Father. And do it on your knees there is something about it. Well until next time, May the Force be with you, and God bless you. Elder Cody Grant Fairbanks MTFBWY eldercodygfairbanks.weebly.com |
