Anyway...... We had a pretty interesting and good week. We have a new investigator named Sara. She is way way awesome. We have met with her twice, and have had really spiritual experiences with her both times. This Sunday she came to church. Since we had General Conference this last week, we had fast and testimony meeting on the 13th. We were sitting in the pews, with a few of our investigators and she whispered to me that she had to go. I thought that she meant that she needed to leave. But to my pleasant surprise she got up and bore the sincerest and honest and heartfelt testimony I have ever heard. It was an awesome experience.
We have been having awesome success here in Alma. To sum it up the best I can would bet in the words of our branch president after church on Sunday. "Did you elders realize that we had more investigators and guests in sacrament meeting than we did members?" It was such an awesome day on Sunday.
So Saturday the 12th started out like any other day. We got up did our three hours of studying and went to work. Later in the day when we were at Orval's house with Jesse and Lisa(investigators) helping them get a place to rent from Orval. When it started Hailing and the wind was blowing HARDCORE it was insane. We didn't really think much of it. So we just went about our business as usual. We went and saw Darnell. He told us that there was a jumping tornado going around. Then right after he told us that the Senior couple Woodards texted us and told us that we needed to get right back to the house. When we got there, there were sparks flying from downed power lines in our backyard. A couple of trees were completely uprooted and thrown on top of the power lines. (check the website for the pics). It was crazy, the Woodards already called the electric company to come. But it would be a while. We saw that the stairway to our apt. was blocked by a downed line. So we decided to go to the fire station to see if they needed any help or knew what was going on. We got there and 3 out of the 7 trucks were out driving around looking for damage. We pulled up right as they were hauling but out of the station. We got inside and were able to talk to the Chief about what was going on. They new that we were hit by something. So they sent trucks out to look for people in distress. When we went back to the house, we saw that the wire had come loose and had risen far enough that we were able to get into our apartment.
We spent the evening listening and watch the thunder and the huge and close lighting. We were without power. So we were able to get up and go to church and the power was back on Sunday night. We were hit by a jumping tornado. but with God protecting us, we were safe.
On Sunday President Belles invited us to have lunch with his family out in the village of Breckenridge. That had a sweet ranch type place with ten acres and a forest on their land it was way sweet.
Well that is a week in review I pray for all of you each night.
May God bless, watch, and protect you over the coming week.
