Also before I start the main body of this email I would like to tell you of a experience. A week or two in the past we were asked to come over to a members house to pick up a meal for dinner. We were excited and very grateful for this. When we arrived they gave us two plastic bags full of food. So full of food that it was hard to carry. They said that there was enough in the bags to feed us for about 8 good sized meals. They told us how much they were blessed, and that they knew that the greatest way to show gratitude to the Lord was by helping His servants. This experience was so incredible. I have never felt the Spirit stronger than I did that night. Tears were brought close to my eyes, full of gratitude we left this little family. As we sat down in the car we both looked at each other and both said at the same time that this family would be extremely blessed for their goodness. The Dobbs family has set a great example for sacrifice.
So now... on to the week....
Monday May 18th. We went up to the church to see the people transferring. Then after that we went fishing. The only thing that we caught was seaweed. But as we left Elder Reiswig caught a 12 inch bass. After that we went with the other elders down to the mall to look around. I saw something incredible. STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT coming out November 17th 2015. Boyt will I be excited to play that when I get home. But anyway I just thought that all of you would like to know that. Then we had some spicy Korean rice for dinner with the Pierces. Then we called it a night.
The 19th. We finally were able to meet up with Mike Y. We were able to talk to him about repentance and what Christ expects out of us. Then we went door knocking on Ambrose. Then we had dinner with the VanDongens. It was pulled pork sandwiches with an ear of corn and a awesome home made OREO dessert.
The 20th. Today Elder's Purnell and Oldroyd came over and had lunch with us. Then after that we went and personal contacted in a pretty large park. We then went and saw Jason. He is doing well. Not sure what his commitment level is, he hasn't been keeping any lately. Then we went to the Frye's for dinner. We had wet burritos. They were really tasty and the sauce that we put over them was quite sweet and refreshing. Then we went to correlation meeting and talked about the work in the area. Then we went and got a freeze from Taco bell with the other elders. While we were there, some hilarious black guys were talking to each other and involving us. It was a blast. Then we called it a night.
Thursday the 21st. Today we did a lot of planning and door knocking. Then we had dinner with the Nanzers. It was succulent steak night. We had baked potatoes and corn on the cob and grilled to perfection steak and chicken. Then we talked with the other elders for a little bit, and called it a night.
The 22nd today we went up to knock Breckenridge. Sadly a lot of people were gone or leaving to go on vacation. So needless to say holiday weekends are slow. Then we had some tender and tasty roast with the Mupepi family. Then we went and personal contacted in the park behind our house. Then we called it a night.
Saturday the 23rd. FOOT PATROL. Today we went and walked around the park again trying to contact people. We saw some fish in ponds and some geese. Not a lot of people that wanted to talk though. Where we leave makes Saturdays really hard for us, because we are kind of in a industrial zone. So it takes about five miles to get anywhere useful. Luckily Marv needed some help and said that he would pick us up to help him out. So we went out to his house and helped him till the garden and mow the lawn and fix a door. He then fed us hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner. Then we called it a night.
Sunday the 24th. Today we had a excellent sacrament meeting on the Holy Spirit. We had dinner with Bishop Richmond and his family. Then we did a touch of door knocking. And called it a night.
Not sure what is going to happen on Monday it is supposed to be thunderstorms. That will dictate what we will be doing.
Hope you all have a great week. God bless you.
Remember the fallen.
