So this week we were able to do some service with Marv. Also at Marv's Elder Reiswig and Isaacson burnt a shirt, tie and pants for their 18th month mark. So that was fun. Marv also fed us a couple of times this week. We had sloppy joes (disorderly josephs), and lasagna another night.
Let us not forget those who died on 9/11. 2,753 people, 343 were New York City firefighters, another 71 were law enforcement NYPD, PAPD and some other agencies. At the Pentagon in Washington, 184 people were killed. Near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 40 passengers and crew members aboard United Airlines Flight 93 died. Gone but not forgotten. NEVER FORGET.
This week we had trade offs so Elder Haddock. We had a pretty good day. We saw Mike he is going through a bit of a rough time. We had correlation while he was here. So that was good. We had dinner at Jimmie Johns.
We also had dinner at the Bloomfields. We had some white sauce lasagna, it was quite tasty
.
Sunday was a good church was good. We had a awesome lesson on the gifts of the spirit. Then that night we had dinner with the Deshanes. It is always a blast while we are there the kids are so fun.
Yesterday Monday the 14th we had Elder Wilford Anderson of the 2nd 70 come and talk to us and do a Q&A, it was pretty awesome. We drove down there to Kalamazoo carpooling with the sisters from Holland and the other Elders convoying behind us. We had a blast on our mini road trip. I CANNOT wait for road trips again. Then we had Spaghetti with the Pierces.
So this is about all that I can recall from this last week, but now I am going to share something that has been brought to my attention;
Due to the fact that Elder Reiswig is allowed to be on Facebook I can see the things that are on there. Last night after we got back we used the Facebook. And I saw a post from someone that I have taught and baptized. I have seen them dragged through hell and back. But this post was incredible. Here is a excerpt "I had a man who doesn't see very well come up to me in church yesterday and tell me he could see my glow coming back...I pondered on
that this morning, while I was reading my scriptures feeling my spirit
hungry for the word,... I know that in order to keep my glow and this
light inside me going, then I must continue feed off the word for
every time that I read, I can feel the spirit with me and it's as though
I am being hugged and fed the things that I know my body needs, I am
thankful that I can be a light to the blind, for I too am blind but
with one foot in front of the other I will continue to move forward,
no matter how dark the path in front of me may be I know I'm not
alone...."
This moved me greatly and made me realize how great the work of the Lord is, and that it is worth every sacrifice. This person is using the gospel the way that it is supposed to be. I want you to know that I have a testimony of the Atonement and the changes that it makes in peoples lives. I know that our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ is there for all of us and that He and our Father in Heaven LOVE us unconditionally especially when we are on the right track. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
