Tuesday the 22nd was my first whole day in Saginaw. We got some groceries. I found some awesome health fig newtons that have become my (one of) my favorite snacks. Nature's Bakery Fig Bar. After that we went up to Saginaw Valley State University SVSU and did some PCing. Then after that we went and met with Bro. Howie who is working on going to the temple. Then after that we went and had dinner with the Stoddards.
Wednesday the 23rd I finished unpacking then we did some less active finding. After that we door knocked on 17th street on the east side and everyone thought that we were the cops. After that we contacted some people. Then we had dinner with the Faubert's then we called it a night.
Thursday was interesting, Elder Giar is the sound director for the mission so we woke up at 0330 and went down to Lansing to do the sound for the new missionary training. That was our whole day. Then we had a awesome baked potatoes and chicken, with the Boss family.
Friday the 25th we started our day off by getting shined. We saw a awesome Sheriff truck responding CODE 3. It had old school gumdrop lights on it. I missed getting my camera out to snap a picture of it. I was a little bummed at that. But as we were driving down into the hood I saw it going down a side street. So we followed it. As we came around the corner, it was like a cop convention. They were blocking off the roads. So we went and parked the car. We then foot patrolled it back to the area. We were stopped by one of the detectives who had seen us in the area the day before and asked us if we knew anything. We didn't, but he shook our hands and told us thank you for what we do. I told him the same. As we walked around the scene that was about 2 by 5 blocks I was snapping pictures. As we got to the primary scene we realized that the shooting took place right outside one of our investigators homes. She was alright. A man was shot and later died over a small amount of money. Here is the news story http://www.mlive.com/news/saginaw/index.ssf/2015/09/shooting_suspect_in_custody_af.html#incart_river_home That night we met with bro. Howie. Then called it a night.
Saturday we did some door knocking. Then we had dinner with the Borland's it was crepe's. With chicken, it was quite tasty.
Sunday is always a great day. It was nice to meet the members. After church we had lunch with the Zollinger family, they are way awesome. Then we took the sacrament to Sis. Johnson, she is a really nice sweet lady. Then we got shined so we drove around Saginaw exploring it was pretty awesome and interesting.
Today Monday the 28th we are planning on going down to Frankenmuth so I will tell you about that next week.
Thank you all for your support. Take care. God Bless.
