Monday the 11th, we went up to Bay City and went ice skating. Though I did not put skates on, we all had an enjoyable time. Then we went up and took pictures at Lake Huron, which was probably my last time seeing a great lake in person for a while. For dinner we went to the Zollinger's. We had nachos with them, a tasty preview of something to come. They are a awesome family. Then we called it a night.
Tuesday the 12th. Today we were on trade offs I had Elder Hoover with me. Today we did a lot of referral contacting, it was nice because a lot of them were home. For dinner we went to Greg Boss'. They had a zesty asian dish for us that was quite a enjoyable change of pace. Then we called it a night.
Wednesday the 13th, we traded with the Bay city Elders. Elder Wharton was with myself here in Saginaw. We had a good day of some solid missionary work. Then we had some awesome stroganoff for dinner with the Smith's. Then we met up with Elder Giar who spent the night with us, for the conference tomorrow.
Thursday the 14th. We had a zone conference. It was good, things were learned. I shared my "Departing Testimony". It is crazy. I would have never though I would be at this point. But I am. By the time we got back to Saginaw, it was time for dinner with Dave and Sue Deibel. They are great people. We had burgers and fries.
Friday the 15th. I was on trade offs with Elder Hartley now. We spent the whole day helping the Burr's move things out of a house so that they could begin hauling things down to Georgia. It was fun, met a really funny guy named Louis. Then for dinner we ate at the Thomas'. It was a succulent turkey dinner with all the fixings. They are awesome, like mission field grandparents. Then we called it a night.
Saturday the 16th, we did some admin stuff, and did some work around the apartment. Then we had dinner with the Borland's. They did burgers and fries too. These hand made burgers were awesome. Then we got a ride with Bro. Larsen up to Bay City for Alajuwan's baptism. I am so blessed for being given the opportunity to have been able to carry out to ordinance.
Sunday was ward conference so that was nice. We took the sacrament to Billie. Then we did some admin things. Then we went to the Nichols for dinner and killer uno which is always a blast. They made schnitzel which was incredible.
Well that is it for this week, next week will be my final email as a missionary... Weird but o well, my time is up.
While emailing my family this morning, my mind is drawn to those who have lost a father, husband and colleague. We all have lost a hero and a servant today. Godspeed to all those who put their lives on the line to protect and serve.
