On Wednesday our landlord had us over for dinner. He made some delicious hamburgers with onion buns. And some delicious butter pecan Ice Cream. After that we went door knocking in a trailer park. It was pretty classic. The people were really open to talking about things. We found this one guy named Jake. He was really into it. He invited us in and we sat down and taught the whole Plan of Salvation to him. While we were teaching, his BIG pittbull came up to me got a rub down. Then it hopped up on the couch and curled up around me and laid its heads on my lap. It was a pretty sweet dog.
On Thursday, we met with the Mcconnells. We helped them replace their carburetor on their new/used truck (1982 Bronco). Then we did some door knocking ( We have been doing that a lot lately). Then Paul and Angie (some former investigators had us over for dinner. They are some awesome people. And really fun to talk to. They made homestyle bisquik biscuits for biscuits and gravy. It was delicious. For dessert we had strawberry shortcake. BUT.........instead of cake we used (from a tube) Pillsbury flaky biscuits for the cake. It was AMAZING and I plan on bringing that back to UTah with me. O yeah and with some cool whhhip on top.
So here comes the check off. We were door knocking South State St. near our apartment. Because we were low on miles. As we were walking up the road it was really quiet. Then I heard a bark, I turned to look for the dog. But instead of seeing one dog, I saw two German Sheperds leading a pack of 5 dogs running at us. I was out. E. Rhodes and I took of running like there was no tomorrow. We ran up the block and around the corner. We peaked around the side of a building and the coast was clear. So we knocked back down towards where the dogs started chasing us. As we approached the house where the dogs came from they were all just waiting in the yard. So as we gingerly walked by we noticed that all the dogs had collars on the were connected to an underground invisible fence. LOLS they wanted us really really bad but they all five just paced back and forth.
On Saturday we helped out at the Fire Hall. Then Jon Case took us to the KFC drive thru for dinner. On Sunday the Fosters had us over for spaghetti, and some delicious homemade onion roles. It was super good. While we were in Ithaca we checked on Richard he is Rob's dad. He was a way cool guy, he gave us some food to take home. Also the Joy sisters gave us food to take home. So really there is no need to grocery shop this week.
And here I am emailing all of you. I hope you all have a wonderful week. You are in my prayers.
p.s. Sorry folks no new pictures this week.
