We also had a pretty interstellar lesson with Delaro. We talked about the plan of Salvation. He was very very into it. The best part about it was the fact that he was taking notes and writing scriptures down. He told us that he would study them out in his heart and mind and talk to God about it. We told him that was exactly our purpose; To share the knowledge that we have come to know for ourselves, and invite people to talk to God about it.
On Wednesday we had Pres. Hess come and interview Jesse for baptism. It was a nice opportunity to be able to talk with the mission president. Then on Thursday the ZLs came down to interview James and Lisa for Baptism. It was all going well. Then one of the ZLs pretty much attacked Lisa's mom for being less active. It was very awkward. After the fact Jesse wanted to call our mission president and complain about the ZLs. Told Pres. Hess that if those two missionaries were to ever come back and be as disrespectful as they were he would literally throw them out of his house. So we have been having a little bit of drama going around due to this incident. Anyway the nice thing is that the Mcconnell's desire for baptism is unwavering.
So on Friday I happened to be going 40 in a 30 and it would be my luck to have one of Alma Cities Finest come around the corner. Before the Dodge Charger whipped around and turned its lights on, I was already pulled over. As the officer came up and asked for License and registration, he asked how my driving record was. I told him that it was clean and this was the first time that I have ever been stopped. He told me to wait just a minute... so I did. since he had to run a out of state license it took him a minute to come back to me. He handed me my license and things and just told me to slow it down a bit. I said thank you, and then I said to him; "Do you mind if I ask you a weird question? Would it be alright if I got out and took a picture of your car with its lights on?" He said okay. So I got out and was able to capture a couple quick pictures. While I was snapping pictures I was telling him that had he been in a Crown Victoria I would have pulled over sooner, he got a good chuckle out of that. Then I told him thanks and to have a safe day then shook his hand. And we were on our way. And that Ladies and gentlemen is how to get out of a ticket.
Since Darnel has got everyone around the branch referring to us as '"Thug Angels with Poking sticks"' We decided to take that to heart. We went to Wal Mart and bought some lightsabers to take with us every time we go to see him and poke the heck out of him. He thinks that it is hilarious.
On Saturday we spent 7 and a half hours helping the Mcconnells get the trailer that they bought up and ready for them to move in on the 16th. We gutted the place and put up walls and windows. We made awesome progress. I never thought that I would be doing home improvement on my mission. Well it looks like those times when I helped my dad hang dry wall are finally paying off. Not to mention they paid off when I spent a lot of time in the basement.
Fast and Testimony meeting was amazing. It was primarily focused on how great families are. It made me realize how great a family unit is. I am so grateful for my Family and Friends who are supporting me. I am so Thankful for all of you.
I hope that you are all having a incredible week. And May God bless and watch over each and every one of you.
