Well it is all starting to sink in that I am actually serving a mission and coming up on my one month anniversary. Things have gotten a lot better now that I am in Michigan. It is a wonderful place.
Our primary investigator we are working on now is name Orval, he is about 75 years old and his wife is a member of the church. Orval believes that he believes it is true, his only predicament is smoking. He knows that it is bad for him and that he can stop at hospitals or where he is not supposed to smoke, but he just can't stop. Every time we teach him we have a really great experience and the Spirit is there, but at this point in time we just don't know where to go from here. But we stay persistent with him. (He says bytheway I dont like to be pushed). But I really have developed a love for this man and want him to get baptized... But he has to be the one to make that decision. If anyone has any thoughts or Ideas please share.
My companions previous comp was from Hawaii. He was a certified FireFighter of the HFD. While here he had a Fire scanner that he used to go and chase fire trucks. He also had his parents ship out his fire gear, he left it in the trunk of the car so that he could help out if he wanted to. A while ago he left the apt. at 2230 and didnt return until 0200. He had gone out and helped with a car wreck that caught fire and he was assigned to help and stabilize the injured women. The chief (ST. LOUIS FD) that assigned him thought he was from another department. When the chief found out later that he was a kid and not on any dept. in the state of MI he was going to press charges, but nobody would give the name of him. I just thought that this was hillarious and wanted to share it with all of you.
Right now I am eating; orange juice, beef top ramen and spam in the ramen. It is really good. We have a bunch of different spices in the house so I use them to SPICE things up a bit. But that is about my diet right now. The other day we had dinner at the BLUE SHAMROCK where a member is a cook. It was a great blue cheese burger with bacon on it.
On Saturday 22 Feb we washed Alma FDs trucks for them because they had a busy week, we usually go over there and do what we can to help them out.
Well that is all for now. I hope you all are doing good. You are all a blessing and teacher in my life. Thank you so much for all that you do.
