So Tuesday the 3rd, after we emailed we did some door knocking. Then we went out the Wurtz for dinner. It was a tasty chili. But the best part was the homemade OLIVE BREAD. On large loafs of French bread with tons of cheese and tons of green and black olives, it was one of the most delicious things that I have tasted in my life. Then we called it a night.
Wednesday the 4th. Today we had district meeting in Paw Paw. It was good I t was on following up with people and staying in contact with them. We went to Wendy's for district lunch which was tasty as usual. Then we were on trade offs. E. Finlayson stayed in Paw Paw with me. We had a pretty good day. We found a referral named Lupe' she was really awesome and interested. After that we taught sis. Gray. Her and the seven dogs were doing well. Then we did some door knocking. The car got stuck on 3 feet of snow/ice. A really nice man who happened to be on this back road that we were on helped us out. His name was Scott. After we got the car out, we talked with him for quite a while about Christ and his teachings and the Book of Mormon. He said that he agreed that it was divine intervention that he came down the road, but sometime in the future he would be interested in the Book of Mormon. After that occureed we went back into Paw Paw and had dinner at Pizza Hut it was quite tasty a $10 dinner box.
Thursday the 5th. E. Finlayson set a world record on TETRIS on the internet about three years ago. So he helped me pack a box to send home. We fit quite a bit of stuff into it. After that we went out to Lawrence to see William. Sadly he dropped us. He said that he enjoyed talking to us and really appreciated us as people and the church. But he just could not wrap his head around the Word of Wisdom. Basically he did not develop a testimony that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. But that all comes through personal study, sincere desire and prayer. O well what do you do? Definitely cannot handcuff them and drag them to the font. After that we did some door knocking in Hartford. Then we went and had dinner with the Disbrow's. We were able to teach one of their foster kids Billie Jean (whom they have full custody)the first discussion. She is a really awesome 14 year old girl with some hardships. But she is incredibly smart in the Gospel and desires to go to the temple and partake of the blessings there. After that we traded back and called it a night.
Friday the 6th. Today we had a awesome lesson with one of our new investigators Kristin. We talked to her about the plan of Salvation. She really came to understand what God's purpose is for her. Then we did some door knocking didn't really find anyone. Then we went out to some really high end neighborhoods and knocked into some really nice Jehovah's Witnesses. They invited us in and we had a awesome and enjoyable discussion with them. Then we had dinner with the Ortons, the potatoes were awesome they contained carrots. It was quite tasty with the chicken. Then we called it a night.
Saturday the 7th. FOOT PATROL. Today we had a church tour with Kristin. Amanda Osbon came and it was all really awesome. The Spirit was so strong. It all went according to plan. Sadly she will be unable to make it to church due to work. But she plans to take some Sundays off and come and check it out. Then we did some finding in Southeast Paw Paw. Then bro. Subacz picked us up and took us to his place for dinner. It was delicious. Turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes on top. Then some excellent apple pie for dessert. Then he showed us his gun collection. He has a ton of firearms. My favorite one was a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum Nickel Plated with a beautiful wood on the grip. I want one to carry when I get home. Anyway then we called it a night.
Sunday the 8th. Today we went to Priesthood Executive Committee. Then myself and E. Tuttle talked in Sacrament meeting. I talked about Sacrifice and he talked about keeping and living the commandments. Then we contacted a few potentials. We had some awesome lasagna with the Szekely's for dinner. Then we had a good meeting with them about what the area needs as far as missionary work goes. Then we called it a night.
Today Monday the 9th. We have gone shopping and now we are emailing. Nothing to exciting today. We are probably going to go running later.
But anyway I watched this awesome news conference that was held by the church. I would like to invite all to watch it. It is quite incredible. They talk about the topic of Freedom, Liberty, and Religious Freedom/Liberty. It is just under 20 minutes long. Whether member or non member. Believer or non believer. This WILL be beneficial to you to watch. One my favorite apostles Dallin H. Oaks, I absolutely love his remarks about how ALL branches of government need to listen to ALL of the people they govern. Please check it out you will not be disappointed. #Fairness4All http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/church-news-conference-on-religious-freedom-and-nondiscrimination
Have a great day. And may God watch over you and bless you.
